I try to make it a habit because it helps me reset. And honestly, I’m kind of OCD about it. But if I miss a night, it’s okay! I just start again the next day. Because it’s not about checking all the boxes—it’s about staying close to the One who holds it all in His hands.

Before anything else, wash your face, brush your teeth, and get ready for bed. Then create a space that feels calm. You don’t need a Pinterest-perfect setup. Your bed works great (that's my favorite). Or find a cozy blanket, soft light, and maybe your favorite candle or diffuser. Or just lay on your bed like me, haha. Just keep it simple. Nothing fancy.

This isn't about the aesthetics—you’re just trying to create a peaceful space where your mind can calm down and think.

Tip #2: Read the Word

Once again, let’s keep it simple. You don’t need to read a full chapter or dive into a deep bible study (unless you want to). Just something that points your heart back to God. I usually open the YouVersion Bible app and read the verse of the day, and go through the devotional. 

Since I’m already consistent with my morning routine, this isn’t about a whole second quiet time—it’s just a way to end the day the same way it began: with Jesus on my mind.

Tip #3: Just Talk to God

No need to overthink it. This isn’t a formal prayer session—you’re just having a quick, honest conversation with God. You can literally say, “Thank you for today. Goodnight, Father. Help me trust You with tomorrow.”

He already knows what’s on your heart. You’re just handing it over.

Tip #4: Journal or Worship

If you have a few extra minutes (or a little mental space), write down a quick prayer or something you're grateful for. Or hit play on a worship song and just sit in His presence for a few minutes while it plays.

Some days you’ll do all five steps. Other days, you might not do any. That’s okay. 

4. Choose one habit to focus on at a time.
If it's easier, just start with one thing—like reading a verse or saying a quick prayer—and build from there.
